Guillain-Barré Syndrome: Gulian Barre Syndrome has wreaked havoc in Maharashtra. The number of people suffering from this disease is increasing rapidly with every day. So far, 225 such cases have been reported. Of these, 197 people have been confirmed to suffer from this disease, while 28 people are suspicious. The condition is worse in Pune city and its surrounding areas. More than 90% of cases have been reported from here. In view of this, the Pune Health Department is also taking several steps.
So far 12 people have died due to this disease. This disease has been confirmed behind the death of six of these people, while six deaths are suspicious. Of the 225 cases that have come up, 179 patients have been cured and they have been discharged from the hospital. 24 patients are still in ICU, while the condition of 15 patients is worse and they are on ventilator.
In Pune, the outbreak of this disease is frightening. So far, 46 cases have been reported from Pune Municipal Corporation, 95 from new villages connected in Pune Municipal Corporation, 33 from Pimpri Chinchwad adjacent to Pune, 37 from Pune Rural and 14 from other districts. This disease is spreading in a way in children and elderly. There have been 26 cases between the ages of 0 to 9 years, while the number of Mirjas between 60 to 69 years of age is also 21. The most victims are getting young. 46 youth aged 20 to 29 have suffered from this disease.
What is this disease?
Gulian Barre syndrome is an auto immune disorder, in which our immune system (immune system) starts attacking our own nervous system. It causes muscle weakness and it becomes up to Lakhwa.
Pune Health Department in Action
The health department has come into action due to this rare disease coming from Pune and its surroundings. The Pune Health Department has alerted the officials. 7,262 water samples from different parts of the city were sent to the public health laboratory. House to house surveillance activity has been started. Under this, about 90 thousand houses have been surveyed. Appeal has also been made to private doctors to inform public health officials about suspected GBS cases as soon as possible.

Apart from this, people are being appealed to drink pure water and if possible, boil and drink. People are also being advised to eat fresh food. It is being asked to avoid eating half -baked, especially it is advisable to cook chicken and mutton completely.
